Well - got to 700 10 days after the anniversary...that's not too bad. At this rate, I should get over 1000 in late 2010.

Husband wanted to investigate mortgage brokers, but hasn't gotten around to it. :curse: I've been looking at listings...also need to get my officemate's dad's card - he's a realtor in the town we want to move to. I'm tempted to go look at this one house that's had an ad in the paper the last 2 weeks - should be easily in our price range (if using those online mortgage calculators are at all accurate). So, we're getting a late start, but until mid-May husband won't have tons of spare time anyway. I'm totally willing to look at some places without him if necessary. I just think he has a hard time re-prioritizing when something like this comes up....

But the market for houses in our price range is going really fast - so it shouldn't take too long to sell. Just a matter of finding the right place to buy. Then cleaning like we've never cleaned before!

If you are buying a house I would urge you to investigate a buyer broker. They don't work for the seller they work directly for you. All realtors are legally bound to work for the best interest of the seller, regardless what they tell you. Brokers don't they contract with you to find the best deal at the best price. Just a word of advice

My plan is to have one realtor for buying and one for selling - keeps them focused and someone who 'specializes' in the area we want to move to, might not be the best person to sell our house (as they wouldn't have experience in the area). A neighbor recently sold her house - I'm going to ask about her realtor. For the town we're moving to - an officemate's dad is a realtor there - been doing it about 20 years. We had our own realtor on the first house-hunt - she was good, but not sure she fully explored the options where we really wanted to be, so we ended up much further north and east than we had hoped. But we had fewer resources and income at the time.... Anyway, I'm not calling her back...

Saw "Up" last night, in 3D.
Well done movie, rated PG for a little excessive intensity to the violence, and I suspect because the key battle occurs way yup high in the sky.
Had the villain simply been left behind, instead of falling a bazillion feet, the movie might have rated G.

Both OT and I enjoyed it alot. Altoid 'liked the happy parts'. She told me the movie made her sad a lot. Us too.

The 3d is well done and the glasses much more comfortable than last time I saw such a movie, tho Altoid gave up on them part way thru, as I remember doing in times past.
A couple places where the action was too fast for the effect and it got a bit nauseating, but only briefly.

There's a premium for the 3D experience - tickets were 25% more expensive.
Given Altoid's not really caring, we'll stick to flat view for a while longer.
(If we get to another movie this year, that is).

I took Pumpkin to Monsters vs Aliens earlier this year - not in 3D. There were a couple of parts he found scary and I was happy to not have had the 3D to make them even scarier. He claims to not be scared of stuff, but he really is sometimes... Very glad I didn't decide to do 3D. Will try to see Up this summer though.... Piq - do you think it's 'scarier' in 3D? Maybe I'll see if he wants to go on his last day of school as they have a 1/2 day and I'll probably need to work, so husband can take him...(this way Bella doesn't realize she's missing out on something as she'll be at daycare - at 2 1/2, I don't think she's quite ready to see a movie in the theater yet. I have greater confidence in her ability to sit for 90 min compared to her brother at the same age, but the whole experience might be too much for her).

Up is not aimed 'at' the audience ever, so I dont think 3D makes it scarier.
But, one can always slip off the glasses and watch it reasonably well.

Pumpkin and his dad saw Up last Thursday - it was the last day of school and he had a 1/2 day. They both enjoyed it - it's now on our 'when it comes out on DVD we're buying it' list.

Other random thoughts:
hope we hear from the realator today that he'll be doing pics for the listing today or tomorrow. Looks like I could get out of here by about 1:30 (especially since tomorrow is a holiday, so I've got a free 4.8 hours to take off).

It's nice that the rain will stop by Saturday, but I'll have to be prepared for muddy kids as it's been raining all week. We'll be doing the parade in my parents town - meeting some old friends and their familys and going up to the festival at a nearby park. Of course, the park is one giant hill - great for fireworks viewing - but the festival stuff is at the bottom - going to be muddy, I'm sure!! We did promise Pumpkin that he could see the fireworks. I'm thinking of asking the folks if we can just stay over at their place that night, so husband, my Dad and Pumpkin can go see the fireworks and the girls can stay home (Bella would never make staying up that late, and my Mom just had surgery on her thumb - arthritis - on Monday, and doesn't want to fight crowds). Then I don't have to get sleepy kids in and out of the car and we don't have to fight the post-fireworks traffic (can walk there from my parents house).

Saw this a few nights ago and was totally entertained. We often think that animated movies are for kids but this one was not really. The 3D was great and you are right about the quality and comfort. I can't think of another movie that I was so quite entertained with. Good story, great animation and likable characters. The talking dogs (especially "Doug") were hilarious. If you've ever owned one and know the breeds, they were "right on"...just wonderful

Clicking thru to a newspaper article, I saw a banner that read "See how this mom dropped 47 lbs!".
Heh. I could do that, but if I let you watch, someone would have me up on charges of child abuse.

Yeah - the diet fads seem to have come back to 'the cleanse'. yuck! I'd really like to lose 10-15lbs, but not that much!!

Don't know about weight lately for Pumpkin anyway, but according to the unscientific measurement of a carnival ruler, Pumpkin is almost 46 in tall, and Bella's up to 36! My little baby (Ok- she's 2 1/2) is already 3 feet tall! She's only about 30lbs at last measure, though. Doesn't seem that skinny...course my scale just died and it seemed a bit erratic near the end - she could be heavier. Lord knows I can't hold her for any length of time with one arm anymore.

Just y'all remember my pediatrician's rule: if you can see where the ribs are, they're not too fat. If you can't see the shapes of individual ribs, they're not too thin.
