Opera Season in your neighbourhood

think whatever makes you happy - there are so many voices to choose from. I'd claim to be a humble tenor, but since such are like male tortiseshell cats (genetically impossible), ya'd know I'm lying.

(I found a cheap resaler of lightly used frs. He swears the damage is just cosmetic) :confused:

No, at the SDO we allow all the parts to sing. It seems to work out okay most of the time.

Speaking of opera, something on Beethoven Radio has been troubling me lately. It's an advertisement for some opera company in NE, I think, and the anouncer says, "if you like Italian opera, then prepare for a feast," or something like that. Meanwhile, in the background, some Mozart opera piece is playing. I think it's the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro, but I'm not sure. This struck me as incongruous. Am I mistaken about any of this?

I'm not sure. Le Nozze di Figaro was based on a French play, and composed in Italian by an Austrian. Maybe it's considered Italian because it's the language it's sung in?

Well, if you are thinking I'm the clever one because I write Opera reviews...fergit it! You wouldn't want to hear what I have to say about operas. Haven't gotten the tickets yet. I'm still trying to coordinate with the friends who intend to attend with me. I certainly hope we can all get together for this.
