Several years later, nobody objects openly, though there are still people who don't wear them. I found very quickly that with a seatbelt holding me in place I could corner faster, and that applies even with the inertia-reel belts that are now standard.

I'm astounded. Thoughts of fakery crossed my nasty suspicious mind, but there was enough immaturity in the performance to put those thoughts aside. I really do hope she makes a decent career and doesn't burn out or get ruined by over-ambitious parents pushing her too hard. I was impressed, too, that she sang in Italian. Her name suggests Spanish ancestry, but maybe I'm wrong there.

That clip sets me wondering: are either Mummy or Daddy conductors? One or both obviously know about conducting and have passed the knowledge on. Maybe they're orchestral musicians. Anyway, I hope the kid still likes Beethoven when he comes to do his own musical studies, and I'm glad he's having fun in the meantime. I hope it stays that way for him.
